Marotta Controls Recognized as Lockheed Martin Outstanding Small Business

Montville, New Jersey (June 07, 2016) – Marotta Controls is proud to announce that it has been selected by Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control as one of its 2015 Outstanding Small Businesses.  Lockheed Martin chose Marotta for this distinguished award for demonstrating dedicated program performance and achieving a 100 percent quality and delivery rating for a Power Supply Unit on a missile program.
Each year Lockheed Martin honors several small businesses for their outstanding efforts and commitment to their company and mission.   This year’s selection establishes Marotta Controls as a two-time recipient of a Lockheed Martin small business award.  In 2013 Lockheed Martin selected Marotta for efforts in the development of a Power Supply Unit for the U.S Army’s M299 Launcher Modernization program.

Marotta demonstrated its commitment to work with Lockheed Martin on this Power Supply by investing in its facility and infrastructure to support the large scale development and production program requirements.  Within the past year Marotta has prioritized facility modernization by completing new assembly areas, development labs and an environmental testing space in addition to improvements in its quality systems and procedures.  With streamlined focus on the quality and delivery of its Power Supply Units Marotta met all of Lockheed Martin’s delivery requirements, passing all first article inspections in the first phase of the program.  Marotta’s understanding of the importance of quality and the end-user of its products was a key contributing factor to the nomination.

In the past ten years Marotta has focused its technology development efforts on power supplies and electronic systems.  Since winning the 2013 Supplier of the Year award for the M299 Power Supply Unit Marotta has continued to strengthen is electronics and power conversion technology capabilities.  Within the last year Marotta has successfully developed two power supply units for another Lockheed Martin missile program and has also released its own internally developed 1-Step AC-DC Power Conversion technology.
