Marotta uses Computer Aided Design and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) to ensure that the appropriate tools, tool paths and sequences are effectively integrated into the CNC programs and simulated prior to actual implementation at the work center level.
Marotta’s CAM system has the capability to directly import and manipulate any CAD system manufacturer’s models through a variety of standard industry formats for accurate geometry creation and modification.
CAM is employed to create the CNC programs for the machining centers and to provide step-by-step tool sequences, paths and movements. CAM aids the programmer significantly in his efforts to develop and proof complete CNC programs, prior to actual implementation at the work level.
Marotta also uses a GibbsCAM PC-based programming system for CNC machine tools. GibbsCAM has the capabilities to directly import and manipulate and CAD systems models through a variety of standard industry formats for accurate geometry creation and modification.
CAD is also used to design and develop specialized tools and fixtures to support the manufacturing process. Marotta designs and manufactures all its own specialized tools, jigs and fixtures for the manufacturing process.
