(Montville, New Jersey) June 12, 2017 – Patrick A. Marotta, President and CEO of Marotta Controls, Inc., announced news about his company’s expansion in conjunction with new executive appointments.
In the last three years alone, Marotta Controls has seen unprecedented growth in bookings, revenues and subsequently, workforce. The CEO’s vision for the future of the company – founded by his grandfather in 1943 – includes continued robust growth and diversification.
“Our company is positioning itself for future success both physically and through talent acquisition,” explained Marotta, adding, “We are on schedule to complete our state-of-the-art facility expansion within the next three years, and we’ve added new leadership in the areas of finance and human resources.”
Situated on 25 acres of land, the company’s physical structures are being expanded and modernized to include equipment upgrades and renovations which will complement its lean manufacturing principles and substantial technology and program investments.
Working alongside Marotta is the company’s new Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer, Mike Heller, and Richard Chmiel, the company’s new Vice President of Human Resources.
Mike Heller is responsible for integration and alignment of Marotta’s business and financial strategy. He brings diversified finance experience from the aerospace and defense, commercial packaging, and pharmaceutical sectors. As part of Exelis Inc. (now Harris Corp.), Mike developed a cross-functional business foundation; he held several positions in Finance, Business Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Lean Six Sigma, and Program Management. Most recently, he was the Director of Shared Services leading the Finance, Human Resource, and Corporate Sourcing organizations.
Heller earned a Master’s of Business Administration from the NYU Stern School of Business with concentrations in corporate finance and strategy. He holds a graduate certificate in project management from the Stevens Institute of Technology, and he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s of Science concentrating in manufacturing engineering and biotechnology from James Madison University. He is a certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and has taught the continuous improvement curriculum domestically and abroad.
Richard Chmiel brings over 21 years of human resources, operations and leadership experience to his role as Vice President of Human Resources for Marotta Controls. In this newly created position, Chmiel is responsible for the overall leadership of Marotta’s Human Resources Team. He is dedicated to working with employees at all levels of the company, to optimize their experiences, performance, and professional development.
Prior to joining Marotta in 2016, Chmiel worked as Senior Director of Worldwide Human Resources for Dialogic, Inc. His career has spanned both military and civilian communities, having held leadership positions at UTAS as well as Cintas and The Home Depot Supply Chain. His military career began with the United States Air Force as a Nuclear Operations Officer serving in the Minuteman III ICBM community. Chmiel is also an active member of the Pennsylvania Air National Guard, has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Saint Joseph’s University, and is currently pursuing his MBA through the Rutgers University Executive MBA Program. In addition, Chmiel is also enrolled in the United States Air Force’s Air Command and Staff College.
